Abstract
- Drawing upon social learning theory (Bandura, 1977) and resource-based view (Penrose, 1959), we conducted three studies to develop and validate an entrepreneurial capital theory of career success. In Study 1, using qualitative approach, we defined entrepreneurial capital constructs based on interpretations of Hong Kong entrepreneurs. In Study 2 (Hong Kong entrepreneurs) and Study 3 (Shanghai entrepreneurs), using quantitative approach, we developed and validated measures and theoretical models. Results revealed important insights that might stimulate future research.
